I’ve been taking photographs since around 2001 and since then I've been lucky enough to travel to various places in Indonesia, the Bahamas, Egypt and Hong Kong, as well as many wonderful places in the UK. I’ve met loads of fantastic people along the way & I always find there’s a new challenge ahead if I choose to take it. As you will be able to see from the gallery, my main passion in photography is nature, but as my confidence grows I find myself taking more and more photographs of people and would love to work with children and babies in the future. In 2006 I gained my first qualification, becoming a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society, & have had work published in a variety of magazines, brochures, newspapers & on websites. I have won awards in both local & national photographic competitions & have given talks about my work & the journey it has taken me on. |
| Over the years I have used a variety of cameras and lenses, ranging from an old ammunitions box that I converted into a pinhole camera, to my current Canon 40D with a lovely range of lenses that I feel very lucky to own. I have used negative film, transparencies and of course digital media to capture the many photographs on this site, which I have then (in most cases) enhanced in Photoshop, whether it be a minor tweak to the levels and/or a small crop, or more elaborate work including cloning, patching, desaturating & even blending images at times.
For a long time I used only natural light (still my favourite by choice I think), but I have recently bought a couple of studio flash units so I can play and learn when outside is not a preferable option. This has been (and still is) a rather steep learning curve that I'm continuing to explore and enjoy. Thank you for visiting and I hope you like some of the images you see. |
